History of the Christian Counseling office
The Christian counseling office was opened in 2006 by Christina Bardill in collaboration with the International Baptist Church in Riga. It was modeled after a Christian counseling office in Bern, Switzerland, where Christina had worked as a psychologist from 1984-1992. There she worked on a team of Christian mental health professionals who based their work on prayer and the shared belief that God is present and active in the counseling process.
The Christian counseling office in Riga from the very beginning is considered a ministry. It has been supported through prayer by friends, Reformed and Baptist churches in Switzerland, Latvia and the United States.
The office established to serve believers of any denomination as well as individuals who seek help for psychological problems from a Christian perspective.
In September 2015, Natalja Olijevska joined the work as a second Christian counselor.
Christina Bardill retired from her work in the office in May, 2018.
